Okay, so, I'm going to try this blogging thing. I have a few stories up on The Real Todd Manning Fanfiction Hub and want to try to do it myself.
I am a General Hospital fan for many years now. I started at the end of 1996 and follows it fairly religiously until around 2007. Then, the couples I liked were broken up and I felt the show revolved around the unholy trinity of Sonny/Carly/Jason. I stopped watching pretty much altogether.
At the same time, I was an on and off viewer of OLTL. I was saddened when it was announced that it would be going off the air. I have a penchant for watching ships go down. I watched the last weeks of AW, GL and even ATWT. I watched the end of AMC and was intent on watching the last week of OLTL.
That was when I was re-introduced to Todd Manning and Blair Cramer. Or, should I say, the REAL TODD MANNING. Roger Howarth sucked me back into his infamous character so much so, that I had to go back on YouTube and rewatch his whole return. I fell in love with him, with Kassie DePavia's wonderful Blair Cramer, with Erika Sleazak's Viki Lord Riley Buchanan, etc. but mostly with the love story (as fucked up as it was) of Todd and Blair. I was heartbroken with the way it ended, but not totally surprised to see his dead twin brother tied up in a bed being watched over by Allison Perkins.
Then it was announced that Todd and Blair (along with their daughter Starr and cop John McBain) would be moving over to Port Charles and GENERAL HOSPITAL. I followed them, believing that I would be, again, watching the end of another soap.
Damn you, Frank Valentini, for being brought in to right the ship! It wasn't just Todd, but so many other stories that have made me glad I came back. It also inspired me. I have been writing Todd and Blair fanfiction since this summer. I encourage you to go to The Real Todd Manning Fanfiction Hub and read my stories, Dance with the Devil (Book One of a possible trilogy) and The Devil You Know (Book Two).
For this blog I will also have another story I will be writing, In His Corner. It looks at the terrible fallout of all of Todd's lies and showing how his past is shadowing his future. I can promise shocking twists, surprising alliances and, yes, true love. (Hey, it's a Todd and Blair story, they deserve a happy ending, damnit! And Ron Carlivati is just taking way too long.
Check in here for chapter one soon!
